After earning a BFA in Illustration, Felix traded paper and canvas for coil machines, founding Black Fern Tattoo Studio in 2018 in a converted industrial warehouse.
Felix's style blends neo-traditional boldness with fine-line botanical realism, specializing in oversized natural fauna, surrealist animal portraits, and esoteric occult imagery. Known for high-contrast linework that stays crisp over time, Jax takes a collaborative, low-ego approach to custom pieces—whether it’s a full backpiece inspired by vintage Midwestern flora or a tiny, ironic ghost drinking boba.
